Process of Revision

I have done so many papers in my life, and the revision process is always a must.  My first drafts seem pretty good at the moment, but then after I get it back, I realize that I can do better than that.  So once I fix what I think is not so good, I feel very confident in my revised paper.  I feel that I change the parts of my paper that only need to be changed.  I don't revise every single detail of the paper, just the parts that suck and are very boring.  I believe that the drafting process is necessary and that it helps with your paper incredibly.  I always find at least three or four things that I need to change.  So obviously it helps.  I think that people who say that it doesn't help only say that because they are lazy and don't want to take the time to edit their papers and put more effort into it.  The instructor's comments are always very clear and to the point.  They help me a lot by pointing out points that I probably wouldn't have noticed if they didn't point it out.   You get the outsider's point of view and it helps you find what they are looking for in the paper.  I don't have many problems with the revision process most of the time.  I just get "brain farts" every now and then and can't think straight for a few seconds.  The only thing I really struggle with is making up a good, unique, but clear thesis statement and trying to conclude it without restating the same thing.  So those are things that I usually revise when I look through it again.  Overall though, revising has helped me so much in my papers and make my papers a lot stronger, especially with the comments from the instructor.

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's Work

Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec's work is amazing.  It's is so beautiful and radiant.  I was looking at the painting named "The First Kiss" and I instantly started analyzing it.  It has so much emotion and color to it. First off, I believe that the audience to this picture is more toward mature and older people, not so much for children because of how much affection is displayed and it seems as if they are about to have sex.  More mature people would be drawn to this picture.  But not only mature people, but gays and lesbians.  It is what they are in to.  The genre is a painting.  It has no words so you have to infer everything.  This has a very different stance and attitude like seductive and sensual while still staying in a classy moment.  Nothing is exposed, but you can just sense the sex, to put it in better terms.  The two girls seem so involved in each other and seem to be in a very private place.  The design is printed, but it is meant to be spoken about.  It is a conversation piece.  It is meant to bring small talk about what it means, how beautiful it is, etc.  Overall, I think that the purpose of this is to catch people's eye and to show that sensations can come through the same sex.  The painting's meaning is very different compared to most paintings.  It is about lesbians and how they share such a sensual moment in their bedroom where they can have their own moment together.  Toulouse- Lautrec was very good at portraying body language.  Obviously, these people don't tell each other their love.  They embrace each other and have such a powerful and meaningful embrace.  I think this also means to understand lesbians and to embrace and understand them.  This man was such a good painter and had so much meaning behind it.  This is what I call and awesome artist.

Television- Good or Bad?

When it comes to television, I believe that although it is sometimes vulgar, it is something great to have.  I don't think that every t.v. in America should be unplugged.  There are very interesting shows that can teach you a lot like the discovery channel, TLC, and all of the news channels.  Many people watch the news all of the time.  It is one of the easiest ways to access the worldy news.  So why would we get rid of t.v.? After all, shouldn't we be informed of what is happening in the world that we live in today? TLC is also an interesting television channel.  I have watched to many shows on there that I have learned something from.  For example, I watched The Tallest Man In The World episode and learned so much about him.  The man had such hardship throughout his life because of his height.   He has been teased his entire life because of his height and has had many medical problems because of the disease he has.  One part of his body just keeps letting hsi body grow.  Other episodes that I have learned from are Mermaid Girl, Tree Man, Untold Stories of the E.R., and Waking Up in the Morgue.  Not every television show is about sex, guitos, juiceheads, drugs, alcohol, etc.  You ocan actually learn stuff from your television.  Not only is it used to help you learn more, but also to inform you of things.  The news informs you of things going on in the world and how they are affecting you.  The Weather Channel informs you of the weather for the week and which way the rain is coming.  We can learn by watching television... so why would we unplug all of them?

Advertisements Are The Influence

Advertisements are the major influence in the United States today.  Everything that is on an ad, influences everything that we do in life.  That is why today, people do bad things.  Girls show off their bodies, just like the women in the sexy ads.  Because of such scandalous ads, girls do bad things and that is why they end up pregnant at an early age.  Also, it creates an image that women should be this skinny and lean, when really that isn't the case.  Only 5% of women really do have that natural body type.  Curves are okay.  They enhance your beauty.  I personally think that the skinnier the person, the more awful she looks.  Women need to have meat on their bones.  This makes women create an eating disorder.  Some girls throw up their food after.  Some girls just don't eat, period.  This isn't the way that we as women should be portrayed.  Some ads could even promote violent behavior.  This may be one reason why humans are so engaged in fighting, killing, suicide, and arsen.  All because of ads.  Should we be sending these kind of messages to people out in the world?  Instead, we should be enhancing beautiful bust bodies, cover up ads and make them more classy with clothes, and stop promoting violence.  By doing this, we can turn around our nation into something that may seem perfect.  Can we do it? That is America's choice.
